AI Transparency Policy

Artificial Intelligence Transparency

Manufacturers Alliance is committed to transparency, accountability, and ethical use of artificial intelligence (“AI”). Any material use of AI tools in the creation of content, analysis, decision-making, or services must be disclosed in a clear and appropriate manner. Human authors, staff, or decision-makers remain fully responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all AI-assisted work.

Definition of Artificial Intelligence

For purposes of this policy, “artificial intelligence” includes any automated system, software, or tool that generates, analyzes, modifies, or evaluates text, data, images, audio, video, or decisions using machine learning, large language models, or similar technologies.

Disclosure of AI Use

AI use must be disclosed when it materially contributes to the creation, modification, analysis, or presentation of content or information. Disclosure must identify:

  • The nature of the AI assistance (e.g., drafting, editing, analysis, image generation); and
  • The context in which the AI was used.

Routine tools that perform spelling, grammar, or formatting functions without generating original content do not require disclosure.

Human Responsibility

AI tools may not be designated as authors, creators, decision-makers, or responsible parties. Individuals using AI tools remain solely accountable for:

  • Accuracy and completeness
  • Compliance with intellectual property and privacy requirements
  • Ethical and professional standards applicable to Manufacturers Alliance

Ethical Use of AI

Members shall not represent AI-generated or AI-assisted work as solely human-created when such representation would be misleading. Members must disclose AI use when it substantially affects professional judgment, work product, or services provided to clients, employers, or the public.

Internal Use of AI Tools

  • Staff may use approved AI tools to support work activities provided that:
  • Confidential or sensitive information is not entered into AI systems without authorization;
  • AI-assisted work is reviewed by a human prior to use or distribution; and
  • Significant AI use is documented or disclosed in accordance with internal guidelines.

AI and Data Transparency

Manufacturers Alliance may use AI-powered tools to analyze user behavior and improve our services. These tools process data in accordance with our privacy practices. Some services may be enhanced or delivered in part through AI technologies.

Vendor AI Disclosure

Vendors and service providers must disclose material use of AI in delivering services to Manufacturers Alliance and comply with applicable transparency, data protection, and ethical requirements.
