Quick Poll FAQs

WHAT IS A QUICK POLL?

Quick Polls are your tool for receiving peer input to quantitative questions to get a candid assessment of how they’re handling a particular issue, or if they’re facing the same headwinds you are.

HOW DO I REQUEST A QUICK POLL?

You can visit the request form, send an email to research@manufacturersalliance.org, or send an email to gcampana@manufacturersalliance.org and eruiz@manufacturersalliance.org.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

After we work with you to make sure your questions will be effective, we will send you a link to preview the survey and confirm launch. You will receive a link to track the progress of your poll in real time. Most polls are active for 10 business days and we’ll send you a PDF report.

DOS AND DON’TS

  • Do ask quantitative questions to measure a metric or statistic, such as ratio, size, time, etc.
  • Do ask qualitative questions to measure observations or behaviors that lead to a goal, such as how many units are produced in a given period of time, skills gaps, current processes, etc.
  • Do provide multiple-choice responses wherever possible.
  • Do keep answer choices simple and concise.
  • Do ask insightful questions that will benefit you and the Manufacturers Alliance community.
  • Do spell out any acronyms the first time you use them.
  • Do try to keep your poll to 5 questions or fewer, certainly no more than 8.
  • Don’t ask more than one question in a question. Treat each question as its own and split questions that are asking too many variables.
  • Don’t add too many answer choices.
  • Don’t use jargon.
  • Don't ask about pricing or fees.
