A New Era in Trade Credit Insurance

James is a Chicago-based Trade Credit & Political Risk Insurance Broker with One Source Risk Management, the credit and political risk division of Alliant Insurance Services. With over 20 years of experience in financial services, James has held senior underwriting and origination roles across leading institutions including Liberty Specialty Markets, AIG, Export Development Canada, Wells Fargo Bank N.A., and GE Capital. At Liberty Specialty Markets, James served as Head of North America Trade Credit within the Financial Risk Solutions group, where he led credit and transaction underwriting, portfolio management, client engagement, negotiation, and product development. James specializes in structuring tailored credit insurance solutions to protect receivables, mitigate political risk, and support trade-related financing for clients worldwide. 

He holds an MBA in International Trade & Finance from the University of Denver and a BA from Queen’s University. James is an active member of professional trade and chamber associations throughout the Midwest and internationally, and he serves as a strategic advisor to the Trade Commissioner Service of Global Affairs Canada. 

Todd is based in Chicago and consults with clients on trade and structured credit insurance as well as surety-based solutions across a wide range of sectors with an emphasis on energy, commodities, and financial institutions. Prior to joining One Source in 2022, Todd spent 15+ years in underwriting capacities at Liberty Mutual, AIG, and Euler Hermes (Allianz Trade) with expertise in both credit risk underwriting and program structuring/pricing, in addition to client and market facing responsibilities. Todd has deep experience working with multinational clients in creating innovative solutions to meet evolving risk mitigation needs. Todd earned an MBA from University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business and an undergraduate degree from Loyola University Maryland.
